Sleep Training

Starting this week, we decided to give Carson sleep training to help him learn how to fall asleep on his own. There are many different way of doing it and we chose the "Ferber Method". It's a method that tells you to put your baby down while he's drowsy but awake and let him go to sleep on his own but not depending on the parents. As what we expected, he didn't like the arrangement and was protesting by crying. Then it comes the hardest part. The key to make this work is......LET HIM CRY for at least 3 to 5 mins and don't pick him up.

This is really one of the most difficult moments in my life. Hearing him cry makes me cried with him. I know it's silly but can't help it. Hopefully, he will go through this in couple nights or I may just give up and keep spoil him.

6-Month check up

Baby Carson had his 6-month check-up last Friday, Oct 10th. He's now 16lb 5.4 oz(7,410g) and 26.5 inches (67.31cm). Compare to other 6-month babies in the states, he's at 27% tile weight and 50% tile height. He's actually catching up in height (from 36% tile to 50%) but falls behind average in weight. Not sure if it's because he exercises a lot at the day care or he needs more food. Since we started feeding him solid food, hopefully he will gain more weight.

Carson can finally sit up. Although he can't sit for too long, I'm still very happy about his great achievement. Congratulations!!

6-Month: Introducing the Solid Food

Today is Carson's 6-Month birthday. The big milestone for 6-month is able to eat solid food. I bought rice cereal and baby food couple weeks ago and was waiting for this moment. Glenda and cutie Claire joined us for the great event of Carson's and helped me, the silly mommy, making Carson's first bowl of rice cereal.

When the feeding time came, I was even more excited that Carson , haha~. He was okay with the food. The first spoon of rice cereal, he stuck his tongue out and tasted it to see if he likes the flavor. And after evaluation, he decided to have the second bite. However, he lost his patient after a while and looked for some really "meal".

It was fun watching him eat and we'll keep feeding him solid food starts from now.

Happy 6-month birthday!!
